The guest professor of this year’s masterclass by the Péter Eötvös Contemporary Music Foundation is Thomas Adès, who, alongside Gergely Vajda, will work with six young conductors and four composers during a five-day workshop. The course aims to develop the students' musical language and expression, and to refine their conducting technique. They will allow a glimpse into this joint work at the closing concert featuring compositions by Thomas Adès, Péter Eötvös, and György Kurtág – who turned 100 this year – performed by the UMZE Ensemble, a long-standing partner of the Foundation, and each of the young composers participating in the masterclass will also present a new piece written for cimbalom solo.

Participation in the concert is free, but registration is required.
