Kodály method is well known to be a ventilation technique introduced by the master in the Music Academy (this is serious!!). Innumerable stories went about how practical life coaching and health advises he provided his pupils with, who dreaded him though (with good reason). But essentially: the recognition by this practical mind of his, whereas the future of music lies in the musical education of children and the acquisition of musical reading and writing. This now seems so evident yet as energy conservation. And it was roughly that brilliant a recognition at that time. And what do we late successors do? We are sitting presumptuously atop a gold mine puzzling over why we are so poor. Bravo!
