In 2026, during the time of the Bartók Spring International Arts Weeks, Budapest will be hosting the annual meeting of Classical:NEXT, with almost 1500 professionals from more than 50 countries exchanging ideas. The multi-day event, which will focus on contemporary and classical music and will include conferences, showcase concerts, project screenings, film programmes and award ceremonies, will also feature innovative ensembles, such as the ILSANG Ensemble from South Korea, who explore how contemporary music can become part of everyday life. The Canadian-German Rachel Fenlon presents an exciting multi-arts project that involves poetry, film, singing and live electronic music. Hear her sing and play the piano in the BMC Concert Hall. The Opus Jazz Club will present, among others, the Austrian duo Nimikry and the British star DJ Gabriel Prokofiev, who is repositioning classical music.

This programme of the Bartók Spring is presented by Müpa Budapest as a joint event with Hangvető and Classical:NEXT.
